Kowa 881 scope

Q, from Kym:
Do you stock the Kowa 881 angled spotting scope & at what price together with the 20 x 60 zoom TE 10Z .
Cheers.

A: Thanks for the question, Kym. We did carry the 881, but Kowa discontinued it. They intially had non-Prominar versions of their 88mm scopes, but did away with those a year or two into their production.

You might still be able to find some online in stock somewhere, but unfortunately, we haven't had them in a year or so. Good luck!

Vortex digital camera adapter

Q, from Edward:
Is this adapter well suited for straight scopes as well as angled scopes? I use the straight Nikon Fieldscope lll
20-60 x 60
.

A: This camera adapter will work well with either a straight or angled scope. It is made to attach most 3-4x optical zoom digital cameras and it will work well with your Nikon Fieldscope.

Eagle Optics Denali digiscoping

Q, from Greg:
Greetings, I have a scope of yours, a Denali, and would like to know how I could attach a point and shoot digital camera to it for digiscoping. Sadly, I only have the scope. I don't have any adapter pieces. If you sell these, or know where I can find them, it would be the first step for this project! Second, I would like to digiscope with a DSLR camera, an Olympus E-450 with this same scope. Do you have adapters for this?
__________________________________________________________

A: If you buy a small-bodied, below 4x optical zoom point and shoot camera, and this adapter, you can digiscope through the Denali.
As far as using a DSLR camera goes, the Denali comes with a photo adapter that can be used to digiscope with a DSLR camera body. The only other piece you'll need to bridge the gap between the scope and camera body is a T-ring. This is the one for Olympus DSLRs.

Nikon Monarch vs. Eagle Optics Ranger

Q, from Karyn:

I am looking at Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42 Binoculars on your website and see that you have refurbished binoculars at a nice price.

May I ask what type of warranty these would have if purchased?

Also, comparing the Nikon to Eagle Optics Ranger SRT 8x42 Binoculars….I do not see much of a difference. Which would you recommend and why?

_____________________________________________________________

A: Karyn, the refurbed Monarchs come with Nikon's US warranty, 25 years of coverage for manufacturing defects.

The Monarchs and Rangers are quite similar. The Rangers have a far more comprehensive warranty coverage, and in my opinion, are a bit sharper and brighter to the edge. The Rangers would come here to Eagle Optics if you needed service and are covered under a lifetime, no fault, no charge warranty. Anything outside of theft or loss is covered for free!

Nikon Monarch covers

Q, from Chris: I am looking for a replacement set of tethered objective lens covers for my Nikon Monarch 10x42 binoculars. Can you tell me what might work?

A: Good question, Chris. The medium EO covers should work well. Thanks!

Tethered objective lens covers

Q, from Rachel:
Can you tell me the difference between Eagle Optics and Vortex tethered objective lens covers? I have Bushnell 8x42 binoculars-will either of these work for me?
__________________________________________________________

A:
Rachel: The only main difference is the size. You'll need to measure the outside of your rubber armoring in millimeters and see which will work best.
The Vortex covers go up to 53mm, the EO ones, 50mm.
