Q, from Paulette: Hello! I have a pair of Nikon Monarch binoculars. The cover over the eye part always comes off and now I am concerned about protecting the glass. Do you have anything that would fit to cover these?

A:
We do carry both a rainguard (for the ocular lens--the lens closest to your eye) and also the larger objective lenses. If you are referring to the rainguard, our Vortex Rainguard is a nice fit for you Monarchs since they have a slight contour and won't fall off easily. If you need objective lens covers, give a call to Eagle Optics with a measurement of the diameter outside the rubber armoring on the objective lens and we can recommend the correct size for them.
Thanks.

objective lens covers for Nikon Superior E
Q: I have Nikon 8x32 SE binoculars.
Its outer diameter size is about 45mm.
I bought Eagle Optics cover small, but it is a little bit tight.
Could you give me the cover size of Swarovski EL 8X32 binoculars?
I am considering using EL 8x32 cover with Nikon 8x32 SE.

A: Unfortunately, the 8x32 EL objective lens covers won't fit the Nikon SE. They are designed to fit inside the objective lens barrel rather than around it. This is done to accommodate the tether and allow it to fit on the front barrel of the EL which is very short.
I couldn't find another good match for your SE other than the size 5 flip covers offered by Bushwhacker.

Pentax 80ED digiscoping
Q, from Scott:
I need some advice on how to digiscope with a Pentax PF80ED scope. I have been using a universal adapter but find its more cumbersome than I'd like. I would prefer to have a set up that allows me to screw the camera onto the eyepiece. Do you have any suggestions?

A:
Scott, I don't know of a good digiscoping solution for the Pentax scope offhand. You may be able to find some other options from manufacturers in the telescope/astronomy industry due to the fact that the Pentax uses 1.25" eyepieces which is the same used on most astro pieces. We do not sell any telescopes thus I'm not familiar with current options in that market.
Another option would be to try and fabricate an adapter on your own that will fit both the Pentax eyepieces and your specific camera model. I have spoken with other Pentax scope users who have gone this route as well.

Case for Canon 10x30
Q, from Susan:
Will my Canon 10 x 30 binoculars fit in the Eagle Optics Ranger 32 mm Binocular case?

______________________________________________________________________________
A:
If you choose the Eagle Optics Ranger Binocular Case, go with the 50 mm size. Because of the shape of your binocular, this size is a better fit. If it were me, though, I'd prefer the Vortex Viper 42mm Binocular Case. Your binoculars will fit well in the 42 mm size case, since it is a bit boxier and roomier. Also, it had better padding. Either one will be a nice fit and protection for your Canon binocular. Both cases are the same price ($18.99). Shipping is free.

Pentax eyepiece on a Kowa scope?
Q, from Scott in Missouri:
Will the zoom eyepiece that comes with the Pentax PF 80 ED work on the Kowa TSN 602?

A:
Scott, the Kowa eyepieces have a proprietary bayonet and unfortunately will not fit any Kowa scopes. The Pentax eyepieces are of a design that will work with most astronomical telescopes, but not other makes of land spotting scopes.
