Pentax digiscoping?

Q, from Rich:
I have a Pentax 80ed-a scope and a Pentax xw 14 eyepiece. I am thinking of adding either the Pentax 20mm or the Baader 20 mm. I want to digiscope using my Canon dslr (40D and 7D) with 50mm lens and I am looking for an adapter that will work with this scope and eyepiece combo. I saw your listing of the Vortex Viper DCA and I am wondering if this adapter will be an option. If not is there anything else you can recommend.

A: Thanks for your question, Rich.
Unfortunately, only Pentax DSLR bodies will work with the Pentax scopes; their photo adapter is proprietary.
As far as using your DSLR with a fixed 50mm lens, the only setups you can use are Kowa, Swarovski, and the Vortex Razor and Viper scopes.

If you have a point and shoot with a small body and a 3-4x optical zoom, you could get a more universal adapter and use it with the Pentax.
If you'd like to give a call, any of us will be happy to chat about the options.
