Digiscoping Camera Questions

In your experience, is the Nikon Coolpix P7000 a suitable digiscoping camera? If so, what adapters would I need to use it with a Kowa scope and 20-60 eyepiece?

Dear Sally,

Thanks for your interest in Eagle Optics.

The P7000 will unfortunately not work for digiscoping at all because it has an optical zoom of 7x.
In order to digiscope with a point and shoot, you’ll need an optical zoom no higher than 4x.

There are other Coolpix models that do work, so you should be able to find a good camera.
Sony and Canon also make some nice models.

It will depend which Kowa scope you’re using, but they make nice adapters for both the 60/66/82mm scopes and their 77/88 series.

You'll also need a PS-100 Point-n-Shoot adapter to provide a base for your camera.
