Hi Eagle Optics,

I purchased a Kowa TSN 883 angled 88 mm prominar spotting scope from Eagle Optics, and now I have someone wanting to buy me some digiscoping equipment to go with the scope but I'm really ignorant on this subject.

Could you provide some advice on the diiferent options on the digiscoping equipment for my particular scope?

Some input on a camera to use for this would also be appreciated.

Hi Bill,

I’m glad to hear that you are interested in digiscoping with your Kowa spotting scope and can definitely provide you with some information, although for more detailed explanations it may be helpful to give us a call at 1-800-289-1132.

Regardless of what camera you want to use you will need the DA-10 DCA made by Kowa. This attaches directly to the spotting scope eyepiece.

With the DCA in place you will then need an adapter ring to attach the camera of your choice to the DCA. The size of the adapter ring will correspond to the lens threading of the camera (if the camera has threading), or if you are wanting to use a point-n-shoot camera without lens threading then you will need a 37mm adapter ring and the Vortex PS-100.

We have a video that may be helpful for you to watch that deals with these accessories in detail.

When selecting a camera there are some things to consider and I would suggest reading these articles to help:
