Digiscoping with a Razor scope and the Nikon D7000

Eagle Optics,

I have a Vortex Razor HD spotting scope and would like to order the digiscoping adaptor for my DSLR.

I have a Nikon D7000 DSLR and use a Nikon Nikkor 18-105mm lens. The Razor has the angled eyepiece.

If you have an adaptor that would work with this setup, I would like to order it. Will the adaptor have everything I will need?

Hi Bill,

Here is a link to the adapter you would need to digiscope with the Razor and your D7000. There is a video on that page which demonstrates how the adapter is used.

Here is a link to an article on digiscoping with a DSLR.

I don’t know if your 18-105mm lens will work however. In most instances, a zoom lens will be problematic in terms of the vignetting you will get on your images (blacked out corners). You can solve this problem by getting Nikon’s 50mm f1.8 mm lens. They sell for around $100 on Amazon.

If there is anything else you need, don’t hesitate to email or call.

Best Regards,
Eagle Optics
