Adapter for a Simmons Scope for Digiscoping?

Dear Eagle Optics,
I am attempting to match my Canon 60D to a Simmons brand spotting scope. I measure the outside diameter of the spotting scope lens to be between 1.25 and 1.5 inches. I have a T-Ring for my camera.

My question is whether the TSN-DA1 or DA-1 would be a reasonable fit between my camera T-Ring and the Simmons Spotting scope.

Thank you,

David P.

Dear David,
Thanks for your interest in Eagle Optics.

Unfortunately, the only way you could connect your DSLR to that scope is if Simmons manufactures a specific adapter for your scope.
The Kowa adapters are not universal and will not adapter from your camera to your scope.

You would either be looking for a collar style adapter like the DA1 that would accept a DSLR with a fixed 50mm lens over the eyepiece or a photo (telephotography) adapter that would replace both the lens of your camera and the eyepiece of your spotting scope, with a T-ring like you mentioned bridging the gap.

If you have any further questions, we’ll be happy to try and help, but I’d recommend you see if Simmons makes a DSLR adapter of some sort.
That I know of, very few manufacturers do make these.

If you have a small-bodied point and shoot with a below 4x optical zoom, the possibilities for connection are far greater.
