Is there a photo adapter for the iPhone 5?

Hi Eagle Optics,

I have a Leica 77mm scope that I purchased from Eagle Optics and am very satisfied with your products, pricing and customer service. Bought my binoculars and other items from you too. Suffice to say, I am a loyal Eagle Optics customer, so I now turn to you for help in making the best purchase for digiscoping.

I have an Apple i-phone 5 with Retina Display, etc. Super Duper Phone.  I want to use my Leica scope to take pictures on my i-phone. Can you recommend, and perhaps even offer a product that will allow me to mount my i-phone on the Leica lens? I normally use the zoom lens eyepiece, which is one and 7/8 inches in diameter. I also have a fixed wide angle lens and an fixed 40mm lens.

I would appreciate any advice and recommendations on an adapter attachment that will securely hold my i-phone up to the scope lens thus allowing for photographs to be taken.

Dear Patricia,

Thanks for your interest in Eagle Optics.
We have heard talk about an iPhone 5 adapter coming from Leica, but so far, have not received any information.

There has also been talk that Kowa might come out with one, but as of yet, the only iPhone adapters we know of are for the iPhone 4 and 4S.

I don’t know that they will manufacture it to fit the eyepiece of the old Leica scopes; that part remains to be seen.
We will certainly eventually post it on our website under spotting scopes and digital camera adapters and Leica if it comes to the market, but again, we haven’t heard of any further developments yet.
