Will my Canon cameras work for digiscoping?

Hello,
I have a Canon point and shoot Powershot SD940 IS digital Elph and a Canon EOS Rebel T2i with both a 18-55mm lens and a 55 - 250 mm lens.  I am considering digiscoping for birdwatching but am completely lost as to what I would need.  Are you able to direct me?

Thanks,
Evelyn A

Dear Evelyn,
Thanks for your interest in Eagle Optics.
If you want to use that camera for digiscoping, you will need a fixed 50mm lens for it.
The zoom lenses will not work.
The 3 options for manufacturers who make adapters to accept a DSLR and fixed lens are Swarovski ATS/ATM/STS/STM scopes, Vortex Razor HD, and Kowa spotting scopes.

There are other options if you were to use a point and shoot camera with a small body and below 4x optical zoom, and we’ll be happy to chat about those if you’re interested in going that route.

Thanks!
