What is needed to digiscope with an older Swarovski scope?

I am so confused and hope you can help me out. I have watched your digiscoping video but am still unsure what pieces of equipment I need for digiscoping using an older scope. I plan to use my Swarovski  ST HD 80 scope with a Canon EOS T4i. Can you help me select the proper equipment?

Bob H.

Dear Bob,
Thanks for your interest in Eagle Optics.
We'll try to help, but it could be challenging, since some of the components you need are now discontinued.

The Swarovski Digital Camera Adapter for Zoom Eyepiece is discontinued, but at this writing, we still have some in stock,.  The problem would be to find the adapter ring for your Canon camera, which Swarovski no longer makes.  It's possible you may find one online.  Good luck with that one.

Let's assume you are able to acquire the ring and the Swarovski DCA. Then, if you don't already own a fixed 50mm lens for your Canon, you'll need one. The zoom lenses won't work at all for digiscoping.  Your best bet is to just google search or visit a local camera store. Relatively speaking, those short lenses are inexpensive.

Almost universally, the fixed 50s have a 52mm thread on the end of the lens, which will attach to the 52mm ring Swarovski provides with this adapter).

If you have additional questions, please give us a call.
