Camera may not work for digiscoping

I am interested digiscoping in using a Fujifilm FinePix 3800 camera with a Kowa TSN-822 spotting scope. Do you sell the adapters I would need for this?

Hi Gerry,

Thank you for contacting us.  I’m glad you’re interested in digiscoping, however I’m not sure if the camera you have is going to work very well.  For one the FinePix 3800 has a 6x optical zoom.

Typically we would recommend using a camera with a 4x optical zoom if you are wanting to use a point-and-shoot.  With the 6x optical zoom you may have some vignetting of the image.

Another concern is that the FinePix is a fairly long-bodied point-and-shoot, and may not fit on the mounting plate of the digital camera adapter.  With that said, below is the point-and-shoot adapter kit that will work with your scope:

Kowa Point and Shoot Adapter Kit for 60 mm / 66 mm / 82 mm Spotting Scopes

Also, if you are using a new Kowa eyepiece, you would need the following adapter as well.  This is because the newer eyepieces are longer than the original zoom/fix focus eyepieces made for this scope:

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
