I have a Leica 77mm scope w/ angled eye piece that I purchased from you some years ago. At the time I bought an aluminum Manfrotto tripod w/ the Manftotto 3130 head. This set up is a bit heavy for hauling around in the field. Though its ease of set up and use and my large size have made replacement a low priority.
Now however I'm traveling to Cuba in December and the airline has a 44 pound weight restriction. I was looking at the Vanguard Abeo 243CV Carbon Tripod Kit on the website. If I purchase it, what modifications will I need to make on my scope? Will the existing foot for the quick release mount I now have for the Manfrotto work with the new tripod?

To use the Abeo tripod with your Leica scope, all you would need to do is swap out the quick release plates. It has a quick release mechanism very similar to the Manfrotto one, though the shape of the plates is slightly different.
The good news is that the Abeo tripods come with the needed quick release plate and the procedure to install it is easy and straight forward.
